Detailed Description

# Revopoint Trackit SR Standard Edition

Overview

The Revopoint Trackit SR Standard Edition is a portable wireless optical-tracking 3D scanner for reverse engineering, inspection, product development, automotive work, and dimensional capture. It combines a handheld blue-laser scanner with a separate NIR tracker that calculates the scanner's position in real time.

Optical-tracking mode supports marker-free scanning while the scanner remains visible to the tracker. The scanner can also operate independently in marker mode. Larger workpieces can be captured through multi-position workflows using shared references, although wireless tracker repositioning requires the optional battery grip.

Key Benefits

  • 0.02 mm manufacturer-stated single-frame accuracy under controlled laboratory conditions
  • Tracking-system volumetric accuracy of 0.025 mm + 0.04 mm × L, with L in metres
  • Acquisition speeds up to 2,000,000 points per second
  • Three blue-laser modes for detailed surfaces, larger areas, and recessed geometry
  • Wi-Fi 6 communication for the scanner and tracker
  • Marker-free optical tracking and standalone marker scanning
  • Recommended object-size range from 10 mm to 4 m
  • Integrated RGB camera for texture capture
  • Replaceable scanner batteries with up to 2.5 hours of stated battery life

Best For

  1. Reverse engineering of manufactured parts
  2. Automotive components and vehicle-related projects
  3. Product design and digital reconstruction
  4. Engineering inspection and dimensional documentation
  5. Scanning dark, metallic, or reflective industrial surfaces
  6. Capturing small details and medium-to-large components

Scanning Technology and Performance

The Trackit SR provides three blue-laser scanning modes. Fine Mode projects 30 crossed laser lines for detailed, high-speed surface acquisition. Far Mode uses 17 parallel laser lines with a longer working distance and a larger capture area. Deep Hole Mode uses one laser line for narrow recesses, grooves, grilles, and other difficult-to-reach geometry.

The scanner reaches a maximum stated acquisition speed of 2,000,000 points per second. Its fused point distance is specified at up to 0.05 mm, while single-frame accuracy is specified at 0.02 mm under controlled laboratory conditions.

Tracking and Scanning Workflow

During optical-tracking operation, the tracker observes the handheld scanner and calculates its position in real time. This enables marker-free scanning while the scanner remains visible to the tracker.

The tracker has a stated working distance of 800–2,500 mm and a tracking volume of 3 m³. Revopoint's multi-position workflow uses shared reference points to align tracker positions around larger workpieces.

The handheld scanner can also operate independently in marker mode when optical tracking is unsuitable or the scanner moves outside the tracker's view.

Important: Wireless multi-position tracker operation requires the optional battery grip. The battery grip is not included with the Standard Edition.

Software and File Compatibility

The Trackit SR uses Revo Track for scanner control, calibration, point-cloud processing, editing, and model export. Revo Track supports point-cloud, mesh, and textured-model formats for inspection, reverse engineering, CAD, visualization, and additive-manufacturing workflows.

Supported Output Formats

  • PLY
  • OBJ
  • STL
